Being a New Yorker living in North Carolina, I am constantly finding and buying stuff that reminds me of home.  Especially anything that's New York Jets!  While doing my weekly search for some good ole New York Jets apparel I came across Homage Clothing

While I didn't find anything for the Jets nor did I find anything from my home town, some of the retro shirts like the Let's Go to New Orleans made me want to buy one just because it looks cool!

The Yoknapatawpha Arts Council has teamed up with artists, celebrities, and fashion designers to create a ball that is affordable for all. Your ticket is to get out of that stuffy suit and cocktail dress and come dressed in your favorite t-shirt and blue jeans.

The Blue Jean and T-Shirt Ball, scheduled for April 20, 2010 at the Power House in Oxford, Mississippi, not only will benefit the Yoknapatawpha Arts Council also the Student Arts Association. The event will feature an exhibit of uniquely designed, autographed and created t-shirts by artists like Jerry Edmund, musician Jimmy Buffet and Eli Manning.

Guests will be able to leave with their favorite wearable work of art by making a donation to the arts council and receiving a sold sticker to place on the t-shirt of their choice in a reverse auction.  Instead of bidding for a flat donation guests have a chance to win their favorite shirt.  Tired of having that same, old t-shirt as everyone else in town?   This free event will feature several artists creating t-shirts on site.  Guests can have the clothes they are wearing transformed into a work of art, or get a little paint under their nails and make their own wearable art with assistance from the artists.

T-shirts from a cool dive bars around the county (or the world?) why didn't I think of that! For just $20 a month you get an actual shirt from various dive bars like the Red Hook Bait & Tackle Shop, Brooklyn New York, or Charlie Mopps of Sandy Springs, Georgia. No you've probably never heard of any of these places, and if you have it'll probably make it even more special. I know, why the hell would you want a shirt with some bar you've never visited before, but then again why the hell we buy most of our t-shirts in the first place? Cuz it's comfortable and it's cool!

I own a shirt call 'Lucky Burger' from Lucky Jeans, and I swear if another person asks me where is Lucky Burger I was going to stranggle someone!  But it made me think why the hell did I buy it in the first place?   Well, it was comfortable and I felt like spending $39 for a t-shirt!

$20 will get you a monthly shirt from an actual dive bar, that's a great bargain if you ask me!   Considering how much a plane ticket or gas money it would cost you to actually visit these places.  Now you can wear a conversation piece, even though you have no idea what the place is like... Make it up!

Johnny Cupcakes - Make Cupcakes Not War

Cupcakes and shirts, what's not to like?  Johnny Cupcakes has been one of the fastest growing shirt companies on the web!  Not only does he come up with some of the coolest designs, some are them are so limited that they only make a few hundred 'per batch'.  Featuring 2 stores in Massachusetts, and a fairly new one in California, you bound to find something you like in their store or online at JohnnyCupcakes.Com.  Their shirts are a bit pricey (t shirts will run you between $24.99 - $38.99) but they are some yummy looking shirts!  I've yet to actually own one (too rich for my blood) but one day when I'm feeling less stingy, I'll break out the plastic and splurge on one  (maybe even a limited baked one!)

And if you're reading this Mr.Cupcakes, when are you gonna open an affiliate program so small blogger like me can earn a few bucks get some of these yummy shirts?
